P/2024 S2 (Rankin)
This is a goal I've been working towards since around 2015, finding a comet from my home observatory. I proved to be quite the challenge with a lot of nights coming up empty handed over the years. My luck changed on Sept 30, 2024 when I spotted a bright fuzzy new object moving through the Milky Way. This became my first "amateur" comet discovery.

P/2024 S2 (Rankin) is a typical Jupiter-Family Comet with an orbital period ~ 11.8 years.
Was very happy to pull this off.
